How are they calculated? It seems to me that it is not based on "whole days", as one of the new members has made 5 posts yet his daily average is shown as 4.64

Just curious.

Total number of posts, divided by total number of days since registration?

That's what I thought, but it would appear that it is not as simple as "1 day", "2 days" or "3 days", etc, as a user, having made 5 posts, would have an average of either "5 per day" or "2.5 per day", etc, not "4.64 per day" as has been observed.

No, not that either.

Hourly it comes out at 4.8 (registered for 25 hours),
or 4.615 (registered for 26 hours).

Quite fascinating.

That is odd, the main question is what quanta of time is used.

That being said 4.8*25/24 = 5 and 4.615*26/24 = 4.999583... ~ 5
