All the mail down here goes via road/air. The mail hub is Exeter Airport.
This decision was made not long after a new mail terminal had been built at Bristol Parkway. What a waste that was.

The Post Office/Royal Mail has made some very strange decisions, just look at the Consignia name change....

Was that before or after they spent all that money on the new mail terminal at Filton about 2 miles away ??

The mail centre was built and is used. The mail terminal was built and then the decision was taken to pull out of rail. The mail centre was not dependent ont he Parkway mail terminal. The Wilelsden hub is still in operation, although mostly for road transport.
