Hi everyone. I've just had my interview for a track maintenance operative and got told I done really well by the interviewers. Who decides if I get the position now? Is the guys in the room with me or HR? and what is the usual waiting time to find out if I get the job. Many thanks

It’ll be the manager(s) for that role. It depends who interviewed you, but assuming it was at least one manager for that role, it’ll be their decision.

If you ever come across the term 'Hiring Manager' they are generally the people in charge of that department not HR.

The hiring manager generally has the knowledge and skills themselves to determine who would be suitable for the role. However, HR usually has to agree and sanction any decisions the hiring manager makes.

I’ve not known anyone in HR ever having to agree to a hiring decision, although I appreciate not all companies are the same. From my experience they’re on hand to offer advice etc, but HR/Recruitment’s responsibility and expertise is usually the time up until the interview, then offering the positions etc once the decision has been made by the hiring manager.

Hello mate. Make sure you know your non technical skills, have examples of when you worked in a team and dealt with a difficult colleague. Don't rush when answering the questions and always answer them with safety as the main priority. Good luck. If you need any more info feel free to DM me
