After this first 30 day closure Huddersfield will be two through platforms (where the current P1 and P4 are) and the Sheffield Bay.
They will be re-numbered as 1 (Sheffield Bay), 2 (Current P1) and 3 (Current P4)

mods note, split from this thread

Is it known what the service pattern will be therefore in October with no bays or platform 4 to terminate stoppers in?

1tph Huddersfield - Leeds stopper becomes 1tph Bradford - Leeds via Brighouse, operated solely by Northern

Peak TPE Manchester - Huddersfield service will be extended to/from Leeds non-stop to turn around

Everything else as usual

Deighton is shut. And Midfield will still be served by the York service. Sounds quite a sensible pragmatic way round.

Is the Bradford to Huddersfield service staying or does that go too?

Leeds / Bradford to Huddersfield stoppers are joined and run Leeds to Bradford missing Huddersfield, bus from Brighouse to Huddersfield.

The service times appear in RTT if you search for early October; "https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...25-09-29/1000-1200?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt"

And can anyone clarify how long this phase, with Brighouse to Huddersfield replaced by a bus will go on to?

I get the feeling Brighouse passengers might start to like their half hourly service to Leeds and will want to keep it permanently

That's 5 trains an hour from Manchester combined Piccadilly and Victoria to Leeds.

Not shabby.
The Picc to York service is the stopper to Huddersfield then via Wakefield / Castleford to York so it's the usual 4 TPE Manchester Vic to Leeds, although the Wakefield one isn't much slower if your going to York.

Not certain but I believe it's early 2027 once the works at Huddersfield station are due to finish, I think there's another blockade of Huddersfield late 2026 or early 2027.

I am surprised Marsden isn't being served during the closure, I thought they could turn the Piccadilly Stoppers there.

Because diggle signal box is getting decommissioned and all the signalling along that route is being redone.

Northern also having to pilot between Penistone and Berry Brow

At peak times it will be 5tph Leeds - Manchester as the Huddersfield - Manchester stoppers are extended to/from Leeds as I mentioned in Post #2

Ah well that makes sense... Didn't realise that was tied into this possession too.

Brighouse will likely maintain a service until almost the completion of the TRU project. Whilst the Huddersfield section may complete in the next few years, the project moves on to Stalybridge - Huddersfield upgrades which will require Calder Valley diversions. Whilst Huddersfield should (may) remain accessible, via the Bradley Chord, I'm not sure if services would run into Huddersfield via the Bradley to reverse and run via Heaton Lodge, or if Brighouse will continue to remain a RRB interchange.

Very end of December 2026 through January 2027 for Huddersfield #2

This is utilised when available. Whilst the work may be closer to Huddersfield, the possession extends to Marsden for practicality. For example, during the planned Gledholt Tunnel works, the possession is extended to Marsden to allow the engineering trains to crossover between the lines. It's a tough one to explain to customers who see no working taking place but also receive no service. TPE are pushing for Marsden to be accessible more often than not, and some future possession limits have been / will be amended to allow MAN - MSN services.
