Looks like it's structured like the APEDS scheme but not for engineering... (Also not stuck with one ToC) Sounds to me like an extended work experience system for graduates.
Although tbh looking into it, seems to be all show and no trousers for cheap labour...

Yeah, but the chances are you'll be doing higher level non-operational administrative roles as well, and for a 'graduate scheme' thats very low for my trade (Electrical Engineering) where the lowest wage I've seen is £25k (TfL) or £23k (Contractor) but the contractor isn't based in a city so has very low living costs.
Some Graduate Schemes a few years ago where paying in excess of £30 - £35k for MEng Graduates...

i dont think it matters, according to the site it doesnt specify that it has to be, as long as it's 2:2 or above

Yes so in that case you could just decline this scheme, it's not as if applying for it forms some sort of employment contract, you'd only get that if you've gone through the recruitment process and even then it's probably easy to decline or resign!

I've applied for 16 jobs and schemes and am hearing a decent number of replies...
Although my degree is in Mechatronic Engineering with Software Engineering bias, accredited by the IET and InstMC, also recognised by the IMechE and IRSE...
I think you need to consider which position you would want more. It would be a waste for you to apply for the scheme, be offered a placement then decline it when someone else who wants it more could miss out. (Not saying you don't want it... just asking you to consider all the potential consequences)

No, that's not possible for some people due to the locations they're operating from. So geographic discrimination already. Take the South West, the nearest place is Bristol, which rules out anyone west of Taunton. They won't pay relocation and travelling costs.

I wouldn't call it 'geographic discrimination' - for example if you were needed straight away due to some incident, it wouldn't be great if you lived 3 hours away from your booking on point. Same goes for why you have to have your own transport in many cases, as if you are doing an early shift there'll probably not be public transport running that early.

The start of April does seem like a very strange time to begin, although I am also very irritated that the vast majority (all that I've come across so far, but I'm retaining an element of optimistic doubt) start in September: What on earth are new graduates meant to do with the three months between graduation and the start of the scheme? It's bad enough trying to get one job, let alone having to procure a second temporary one for the three months in the interim.
Given that the start of April is pretty much the start of the Easter holidays and that I only have two exams in the summer (and if I can get my 15,000 word dissertation finished a month earlier than the hand in date) I think I'll apply to this. Especially considering that there are multiple vacancies available in Birmingham. I'll take anything I can get in the transport and logistics industry and be thankful for it.
It does seem to be aimed at people who've already graduated, so I think it may be starting in April to stop this year's graduates applying - I think the intention is to try and get some of those who have struggled to get a job since graduating (like me).
September is a funny time, although for me this year I finish at the end of August, so won't have to wait long if I do get a September start.

Wise words indeed. You're right that a 15,000 word essay that counts for 30% of my final year grade should not be undertaken lightly, and my analysis and investigative style is not my strong point to begin with: Having a mental debate with myself as to whether I should maybe just leave this opportunity be.

But when most graduate employers will take on staff from all the UK weather they pay a relocation alowance or not, a lot of the companies I'm applying for do not pay re-location alowances, but I have a very flexable friend I call Master Card that will pay my relocation costs (About £1,700 - £2,300 depending on location)
If it is your first dissertation you'll probably under-estimate how long it does take. I had all my data collected by the end of summer in second year, expecting to have written and finished most of the dissertation by the Feb/March of 3rd year. Just putting the data into Excel to use in SPSS took about 4x longer than I expected, so I was way behind my original plans.
The good thing about dissertation is that you can do as much and as little as you like when you need. I found I was quite good at getting up at say 7 in the morning and working until around 3, then having the rest of the day off (although a few times I've done it the opposite way around - started at 7pm and stayed up all night when there were less distractions i.e. nothing on TV and everyone else in bed. For a time my routine was back to front - I even started shopping at the 24 hour Asda at 3 in the morning [also went through a few jars of coffee in a short time as well
