Along with at least 2 other forum members (33056 and Metrocammell), I spent a few days last week on the PTG Tenth Anniversary Railtour in Portugal, which featured haulage behind 7 different locos of 5 classes over the 3 days - some of which were rather loud! Sadly, the planned use of one of the Portuguese Class 50s, 1805, didn't occur, although we did have one of the ten 1400 Class locos (similar to Class 20s) which were built at Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows at the head of the train for a good part of day 2.
The atmosphere is much more relaxed in Portugal than the UK, with photo stops at stations and on freight branches not being a problem. I've put up a selection from the trip up at http://www.theblackwatch.fotopic.net/c1650988.html
