Poppies removed from SWT stations

It is not just about the signal, any red light, red flag or banner can be used to bring a train to an emergency stop and it doesn't have to be on a signal gantry.
.

Can't help remembering that scene from The Railway Children where the two girls took their red flannel petticoats off and used them to bring the train to an emergency stop to avoid it hitting the landslide.

Would a workaround be to use white poppies instead?

Thanks I was thinking exactly that then I read your comment (though I take on board the reservations subsequently expressed..)
