Poole to Bath Via Reading

So I am looking to go from Poole to Bath potentially via Reading on the 22nd of December. According to the routeing guide an any Permitted Dorchester-Bruton ticket :http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=DCH&dest=BRU&grpo=0429&tkt=SVR is valid on routes XR+PC making this fare valid to Bath. However putting in DCH to BRU Via Reading into a journey planner will not give me this itinerary and fare.

Have I missed something, can someone help?

The XR+PC mapped route is being shown as a permitted route between the Weymouth and Castle Cary routing points, not between the Brockenhurst and Westbury routing points (as required for your ticket to be valid via Reading). This does mean that the routing guide is showing a Weymouth to Castle Cary (any permitted) ticket as valid on your preferred route, but this is clearly a mistake and National Rail Enquiries does not show it as a valid route.

However National Rail Enquiries does show a Brockenhurst to Castle Cary ticket (Not London) as being valid via both of the following routes which follow the XR+PC routing:

• Via Reading and Bath
• Via Weymouth

The ticket is obviously also valid on the route via Southampton, Salisbury and Westbury.
Perhaps this ticket and a Poole-Brockenhurst ticket will do what you need.

Dorchester - Bruton this ticket now has a via Yeovil restriction on it.
Route from Poole to Bath is either
via Dorchester stations off peak svr £29.90
Via Salisbury off peak svr £36.20
Anytime return £42.90
Not via London i.e. through Reading off peak £93.80
Super off peak £70.40

Thanks everyone, I though I had found a great value ticket for getting to go via Reading! Why would that route be in the routeing guide if you have to go via Brockenhurst anyway which effectively makes it useless?
