Poole Park Railway has been suspended after a train derailed on Saturday afternoon.

BCP Council said debris had been found on the track.

The miniature railway was running a trial service ahead of its official launch event on Saturday, September 17.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: "The train at Poole Park Railway derailed at around 2pm this afternoon after debris was found on the track.
"Nobody was hurt and the team are working hard to get the service going again."

Not a great start after a long-drawn-out closure...

Pedantic I know, but if the debris was "found on the track" after the derailment it should be phrased as "a train struck debris on the track".

Seems quite late in the day for this to happen, unless the debris had only just fallen onto the track from a tree or been blown there by wind. Do they not walk the track before the first train runs?

It appears that stones were placed on the track, a deliberate act most likely local kids, possibly the same ones who have been smashing bus windows, causing Morebus to withdraw services to certain roads.
There have also been problems at Poole bus station

Seriously, BCP refused to allow the previous operator to continue and took over working the line itself, only now it is facing the same problems the previous operator had
