Hello all, another 'get to know your fellow poster' poll.

On the back of posts in the House Cleaning and Hygine, Misanthropy (Dislike of other people) and Is anyone spending Christmas alone? threads, I thought it might be interesting ask the question: who (if anyone) do you live with?

I'll go first - I've lived alone for the last year or so since my wife moved out.

I live with one female, one male and one other whose gender is not known (plus hordes of spiders - see hygiene thread)

I live with my wife. Before that, I spent some time lodging with her mother as I'd returned to Newcastle before she was able to get a job up here. That was...interesting

Before that I lived with my wife, before that I was alone in a bedsit, before that I was in a flatshare, before that I was alone for a bit in my first owned house and before that it was with my first wife and my daughter.

Phew.

Back home, caring for mummy and daddy. Do have the biggest room in the house though, mainly to cater for my hockey gear! (And my car now has a garage to sleep in at night...)

Sounds like you're doing alright out of the arrangement.

Wife and 3 kids in the main home. Father in law is in a care home so I stay at his house alone a couple of nights a week to satisfy his insurance requirements.

I'm kinda interested in how many students still live in shared houses
Certainly in Sheffield there has been a huge increase in the amount of student halls/apertments since I was a student in the late 90s.

Still living with the folks, with the second (or third lol)-biggest bedroom in the house. Considering the circumstances, am quite happy with my living arrangements as they currently stand.

I didn't leave home until I was 29 - but culturally things are quite different in the Caribbean. Both my grandmothers were outlived by children still living at home.

It's a small one and I only use it when absolutely necessary.

Am 21 in less than 4 weeks myself and to be honest, I can't see myself moving out until at least my mid/late 20s. That's just the way things are going, it seems lol

Not easy nowadays, especially if you don't have a partner/someone to share a place with. I was lucky in that around 20 years ago when I moved out, I was able to get a mortgage easily as house prices were much more reasonable and affordable.

Yeah, am not looking forward to the time when I'll have little choice but to move out. Hopefully, I'll have found a boyfriend/partner with their own home to support me. Hopes ain't all that high, but fingers are crossed all the same...
