The festiniog is an over hyped toy railway predominantly run by public school boy twits.

The KrKD was a serious narrow gauge "mainline" operation. The operational part of the line was over 100km long with 2 branches, a few hundred more KM of line were mothballed.
The latter years of operation saw over 50,000 tonnes of freight, coal, sugar, stone and limestone, carried in standard gauge wagons on narrow gauge transporter wagons. In places the line was quite steeply graded and it was quite a sight to witness the 450hp turbo charged Maybach or Henschel engined LXD2 diesels pounding up the banks with 300 tonnes of freight behind them.
The line also ran a passenger service on two of its branches with passenger carryings of around 100,000 passenger journeys a year.

It is an absolute crime to see this line close especially as the line was profitable and provided employment for over 30 people.

What a shame........ I hate it when an individual with power decides they can ruin things like this. This is exactly what is happening at Folkestone Harbour.
