Well not quite that bad!

Poland currently has 21,600km of track and after a study on the viability of 7,300km of the network theyve decided to close 2,000km across 90 routes or approx 10% of the national network. The track wont be lifted but left to rust in case they change their mind in future. 1000 station, warehouse and workshop buildings will be sold or demolished but the polish network has about 2,000 disused stations already. The cuts will save around £12.5-£16.7m annually that will be reinvested in maintenence and upgrades.
