A while back there was a section from JD listing all the LU reversing points. Since this item has been closed for reasons beyond me. There were some interesting points emulating from it. As a refugee from the Control room now at Highgate and prior to that qualified for each individual signal box before they all closed. It doesnt surprise me that there was no mention of emergency stabling points. It all goes to show how things and people have changed?
Northern:
Archway
Charing Cross (The old Strand)
Colindale
East Finchley
Edgware
Euston
Finchley Central
Golders Green
Hampstead
High Barnet
Kennington
King's Cross ?
Mill Hill East
Moorgate
Morden
Mornington Crescent
Stockwell
Tooting Broadway
Totteridge & Whetstone
An interesting listing. In my day London Bridge and Clapham Common had reversing points. The Angel had a reversing siding then. It was also the only signal cabin with the original City & South London levers and equipment.
Finchley Central. Here one as able to reverse back from the NB Barnet platform to East Finchley. Something left over from the old steam Goods train days.
Your listing Kings Cross as a reversing point interested me. On the Piccadilly line yes, stock exchanges maybe. Although the signal box for the Pic line is on the SB Northern I was only called upon to use it once.
Platform changes down the City side of the Northern created a number of changes.
Park Junction (south of E.Finchley) used to have three reversing points?
