This was an enjoyable watch. Nicky and Liam raced an ICE against a Lufthansa flight from Berlin to Munich.

Interesting to hear the comments about there being a significant risk of delays when flying. The railway ought to capitalise on this, flights might advertise a faster point-to-point timing but delays are common and of course the plane doesn't usually take you to somewhere close to your destination. DB might need to get its act together before embarking on such an advertising campaign though.

All the other Points Guy races are definitely worth watching - some of them provide a very good endorsement for rail as a viable option for intercity travel.

Nick should’ve got a Lime bike rather than scooter, mainly because they have a smartphone holder which allows you to use turn by turn navigation - super useful as Apple Maps (for example) has all the cycle paths included with a high level of accuracy based on previous experience
Liam should’ve been forced to use public transport to get to BER, which again in personal experience is a bit of a mess however nowhere near as expensive as a cab!

I enjoy their channel, and particularly their races. They're able to show public transport in a positive light but without glossing over the issues they encounter. They're good at making pacey, entertaining videos too while staying focused on the subject in hand.

They should be banned from using Uber to reach airports/stations during races. Always feel they're copping out a bit when they just jump in a taxi!

Still, the traffic they inevitably encounter on the taxi ride adds to the entertainment I suppose!

I think that it's useful as a consumer test - public transport needs to step up to compete properly with other means of transport. Obviously a rural bus isn't going to compete on time with a taxi but a journey between an airport and a city centre should always be quicker by public transport.

I think that they should do some races against road transport. My favourite parts of Top Gear were the races between cars and things which weren't cars: Race across London, Tornado vs Jag XK120, Bugatti Veyron vs a Cessna, Aston Martin DB9 vs TGV, car vs quadski, and the Ford Mustang vs TGV.

The Grand Tour only did that once - New York to Niagara Falls, and on that occasion they flew the main leg and still lost to the Ford GT.
