Points Failure between Doncaster & Selby (08/11)

Daughter is on 2K2O which has been stopped at South Milford. They've announced it's due to power failure at Selby.
Is this affecting other lines or just Leeds - Hull and can anyone advise if Northern will make arrangements for onward travel for those folks who are stuck?

From National Rail Enquiries:

A points failure in the Selby area is causing disruption to journeys between Selby and York / Leeds / Doncaster.

Network Rail engineers are working to resolve the problem however significant repairs to the faulty points are required.

Hull Trains and LNER services between Selby and York / Leeds / Doncaster may be cancelled, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected to continue until Sunday 17 November.

I'm led to believe a generator failed as the signalling power supply was changed over. I've known issues happen like this before.

A recent generator test, at one location, worked correctly when switched over, but the changeover caused a power surge on the signal box power supply affecting the panel indications. That fault was rectified prior to the start of service the following morning.

I wonder how Northern and TPE are unaffected by a Selby points failure but LNER and Hull Trains have to divert via Goole until the end of next week?

Points run through meaning a replacement set are required, but in a location that means Northern and TPE aren't affected.

Because the set of points affected are at Selby West Junction and have been clipped in reverse position until they are repaired to allow trains to run Selby to Leeds or York. The route towards Temple Hirst Junction is abandoned and that is the route that LNER and Hull Trains would use between Hull and London.

I'm meant to be travelling Leeds to Hull tomorrow (if I decide I can be bothered with another crap performance from my team) I see services are running normally today but is that likely to be the case tomorrow with it being a Sunday?

A question I have is the Northern journey from Scarborough to Sheffield via Hull that leaves Bridlington at 7:40pm goes via Selby instead of Goole. Will this continue via Selby as normal or will it be diverted via Goole instead?

Safe to presume it will get diverted via Goole until the issues with the points are fixed. Similar to the Hull Trains & daily token LNER.

Indeed, looks like the 1H52 1957 Sheffield to Hull service this coming week has been updated to run nonstop via Goole (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:N43783/2024-11-15/detailed). I guess at some point the line will be closed at short notice for the new pointwork to be installed?

Looks like the issue with the points has been fixed with Hull Trains resuming their usual route via Selby today judging by RTT.
