Plusbus with Network Card

Travelled today from Southall to Greenhithe using a Network Card. Ticket office was able to issue the ticket with the appropriate discount but was unable to discount the Plusbus ticket from Greenhithe. I thought that Plusbus tickets were exempt from the £13 minimum fare applied to Network Card tickets on weekdays? Am I wrong?

Are the NLCs in question actually defined as being in the railcard "geography" Network Railcard area in the fares data?

Edit: No, 70K9710 (GREENHITHE+BUS) is missing. GREENHITHE itself, is included.



This is almost certainly an omission.

NLC are codes that identify the endpoints of fares. To get it fixed someone in the industry needs to report it. If Adam doesn't beat me too it, I'll report it when I get a chance

I thought about it, and then I concluded this was yet another case where it would've been really quite trivial to build some validation into PMS along the lines of "if you have a station X in the Network Railcard zone, then its "+BUS" counterpart must also be in the Network Railcard zone". This industry seems to be allergic to data validation, though.

I figured it'd probably be reasonably trivial for us to check them all with a CTE or something and then just send over a list of every anomalous pair, rather than playing whackamole again.

I was going to look at that today but it was a complete write-off, as you know. Perhaps my fault for overcomplicating it

We'd never overcomplicate anything!

Tues 7th January:

You'll be able to purchase this ticket with the Network Railcard discount now, as soon as the TIS supplier updates their fares data.

I've checked on the forum's ticketing site and it appears to be discounting it as I'd expect.
