Plumstead to St Pancras routing

Noticed there's 2 anytime singles both £7 one any permitted and one not underground (presumably that's for Thameslink).Anyone know why? Trainline for business pumped out the not underground one oh well

The £7.00 Anytime Day Single, from Plumstead (route 'Any Permitted') seems to be issued to London Terminals. So, how can you validly get to London St. Pancras if using that ticket?

Think you've spotted the issue. I was slow noticing it. Both come up on br fares if put Plumstead to St Pancras though!

Are you seeing both fares from a website like brfares.com? It doesn't have any logic to work out of the station you put in (St Pancras) is actually a valid London Terminal for the direction you're coming from, it just knows that St Pancras is in the London Terminals group so shows fares valid to London Terminals regardless of validity. As Mcr Warrior said the London Terminals ticket won't be valid to St Pancras, so a journey planner with a bit more logic won't show it.

If your work allows you to claim back a TfL PAYG fare on Oyster or Contactless, the single fares are £5.30 in the peak and £4 off peak for travelling on National Rail only.

Understand. The ticket instead contactless is to protect connection on split ticket advances. Train line for business loves splits

The other disadvantage of the paper ticket is you won't get a journey planner to validate a route via Abbey Wood and Farringdon (as it's just over 3 miles longer and not mapped), whereas on PAYG you can take that route and get the £5.20 / £4 PAYG fare (since the transfers at Abbey Wood and Farringdon are both on the paid side of the barriers).

Can be a useful and fast alternative route if the direct Thameslink train is cancelled.
