Hi,
I am likely to be travelling to Plumpton on 2nd Jan AM to take in a days racing, my concern isn't getting there, it is getting home, as I understand it the following day is a strike day so there may well be some disruption in the evening, I feel quite confident that I can get as far as Doncaster in the evening but knowing TPE I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel all the services from Doncaster to Grimsby in the evening, if I get to Doncaster I find all services are cancelled and I am effectively stranded, would it still be their responsibility to get me home, despite the following day being a strike day.

I like to think the answer will be yes and it may seem a daft question but I can imagine some TOCs trying to say its not their responsibility as its the day before a strike.

Provided you booked before the cancellation was in the system, it doesn't matter what the reason for the cancellation is, or whether it's done by 10pm the night before - nothing in the NRCoT purports to limit the right to alternative transport or accommodation based on these factors. If you are stranded, any operator in a position to assist (this would include LNER, as Doncaster's station facilities operator) must provide this assistance.
