Pleasington-Cleethorpes / Barton-on-Humber

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the permitted routes of a Pleasington-Cleethopres OR a Pleasington-Barton-on-Humber Anytime Day Return please? I got lost in the Routeing Guide

Where have you got to so far?

Nowhere, I need to be out via Preston / Stockport and back via Stockport / Blackburn, but I can't seem to find a valid route back.

I was basically looking for cheaper ways to do Saturday, I thought a PLS-CLE ticket would be cheaper than getting one to Sheffield and then to Cleethorpes etc.

The three associated RPs for Pleasington: Blackburn, Bolton and Preston all pass fares check so either can be used.

Just need to look up the maps for these points to Barnetby which is the RP for both Cleethorpes and Barton.

Map PS should let you do the itinerary on the return leg, I think.

Pleasington (PRE/BBN/BON) - Cleethorpes is valid via maps TP+EE+WK and TP+ER+WK.

TP+EE+WK:

Preston/Blackburn - Leeds - Wakefield - Doncaster - Barnetby - Cleethorpes

TP+ER+WK:

Bolton - Manchester - Stalybridge - Huddersfield - Wakefield - Doncaster - Barnetby - Cleethorpes

Thanks for that, but I need to be out and back via Stockport. Map PS covers me from Preston on the outward trip and Bolton on the return, so I should be fine.

It does seem to be a fairly obvious route and quicker than the others hock:

National Rail Enquiries routes via SPT. A direct TPE MAN to Cleethorpes train. This is 23 miles further though than the routing giving above but with it being on NRE it must be valid...

Direct trains are always valid. It does not mean the route they take is valid with connecting services.
