Please help!!! Musical instruments on trains

And if the train's busy? Can quite understand why you'd do this, but it's still luggage occupying a seat, isn't it?

If someone complains about it and there is standing room only i am going standing in the vestibule with it. The cost of a cello and how irreplaceable an instrument can be i wouldnt advise leaving it alone.

They are not that big, i see them fairly regularly to be honest on trains

I think a lot of people get confused between the different sizes of string instrument and are quite possibly thinking of a double bass, a huge instrument taller and wider than a typical adult (and not at all suitable for rail transport), rather than a cello which is perhaps the size of a (fairly podgy) child.

In the world of air travel one can often purchase a seat for an instrument like a cello to keep it safe, perhaps rail should offer that.

Although I imagine most people would call 'length' the height, and the 'height' the depth.
