Help please, just found this forum tonight so here is my 1st posting, there is some excellent info on here and I hope you can help me.

I am researching the are mentioned above and have found some info on the area. I have some old maps that show the layout of the Station and Goods Depot but I need more info.

Can anyone suggest any books, magazines or photographs.

I'm not really sure if this is possible for you, but I know that when I was researching the history of the lines around me the local studies library was very useful, with loads of good books, and people who knew a bit themselves. Why not go to your local library, I bet there would be some useful books there

I have never thought of the local studies stuff, I have spoken to them and viewed books on the area but I guess they will have some reference books, maps and more.

A tip for anyone else researching areas; I used the Durham Government website and their GIS mapping site, this has maps going back 100 years and can be zoomed in on and printed.
