Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

As the title suggests I'm looking for some advice on applying for the Platform Station Host role with Chiltern Railways.

Has anyone here been employed in this role or similar?

Does anyone have any advice on what they're looking for during the application process and any tips that might help me.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

I'm a station assistant (platforms) for thameslink.

Basically you must have good customer service skills and basic understanding of maths and English.

You may have to do assesments regarding train dispatching to see if you have a high level of concentration. I also had to do a role play based on customer service.

If you have customer service experience then you should be ok. Also you will most likely have to do a medical to check your general health, hearing and sight

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Does anyone that works for Chiltern Railways know how the recruitment process works?

For this post it will simply be Application > Interview (with basic assessments) > Position.

The role itself is essentially a dispatcher, along with the added customer service element and keeping the station clean and tidy. You will also be doing assists (ramps/luggage).

Thanks for that information, it's really useful.

I've just applied so fingers crossed I'll be successful.

Thanks again, kind regards,
