Hi! I was just wondering is anybody knew anything about platform lighting on the railway network, I'm aware that Urbis ZX1s are widely used, I've seen them in HPS, halide, and led variants.

But specifically I've been wondering for awhile what these are on platform 3 at Maidstone East?

When I last looked, they seemed to have a greenish glow, so I thought they might be mercury vapor, but I'm not really sure.

Any other knowledge about lighting is appreciated, I've been curious about this kind of stuff for awhile :)

Someone on Ukastle reckons they were manufactured by a company called He'lux:

Those lanterns are quite common on some stations round this way. Thirsk still has them, quite dim though when seen from the train.... I believe thay are made by He'lux. ( HX155 or something like that)

Street lighting is a pretty niche subject to begin with and it seems a specific type of railway station light goes almost undocumented online, because that's the only reference to that type of light or the manufacturer I can find anywhere. They have, however, been immortalised as a default asset in Train Simulator Classic!
