This letter was received by a friend who lives in Osterley. What does it mean by 'platform edge barriers'? Osterley doesn't seem a likely candidate to get platform edge doors/screens before hundreds of other stations.
My guess is that this will simply be barriers along the platform edge, or the moving of the existing platform end barriers, to account for the fact that the platforms at Osterley are longer than the trains.
I can guarentee you that they will not be building platform edge doors at Osterley.

Maybe the plan is to install similar barriers as at the eastern end of the subsurface trains platform at Mile End - these trains do not call at the front part of the platform but it cannot be closed off as the other platform face is used by Central line trains, which are longer than the S7 trains.
