This platform hasn't been used for years as far as I know, and doesn't have third rail. However I noticed this morning that London Overground has put up new signs with platform numbers and directions for Platform 7, and also the formerly overgrown and litter covered track has been cleared and cleaned up... does this mean the platform is being brought back into use, does anyone know?

I'm not sure if it can be brought back in to use as there is no third rail there and iirc the powers that be say no more third rail, plus it's not signalled, if you come down the Bromley spur there is a physical connection that end, and the other end is some kind of turn round line with platform.

The cynical accountant would suggest LO has a fiscal surplus and needs to spend all its budget before financial year-end, no matter how and where it spends it...

Seriously, it's good news and a clear sign of joined-up thinking for a proper integrated transport network. I look forward to the reopening.

I was wondering about it myself last week, but the state of the rail (and lack of a third one) convinced me that nothing's going to happen there. It dead ends south of Norwood anyhow, so far as I can tell. I'm not sure why you'd want to terminate there instead of heading on to West Croydon where there's more space.
