When was the last time that Platform 5 and Platform 6 at Queens Park had trains booked to call there? So in other words the last time that either SL or LM or LNWR had booked calls? Can anyone remember more exactly?

I am sure i remember that there used to be some early morning and late evening services. Definitely back in the 2000s and maybe even in to the 2010s as well. I presume these were booked services.

Also does anyone know what is the status and condition of the platforms at the moment? Are they still usable and can trains still call there if necessary? If so then have trains ever called during disruption or engineering work in recent years?

I seem to recall there was a plan to run an open access service from those platforms, getting round the capacity issues at Euston. Can't recall the details, but it all came to naught anyway.

That was another Grand Union proposal, didn't work at Euston so was a fudge and used Queens Park.

They're not shown as out of use in the sectional appendix but I don't think anything has called there in recent times (although somebody will now find an exception). I don't know if it's listed as Out of Use in a different non-public document though.

Given the prospect of anything using them is so low, I'm slightly surprised NR carried out work rather than just pursue the Network Change to formally take them out.

There is a local instruction in the Sectional Appendix referring to the evacuation of trains in the Queens Park area. De-trained passengers must be escorted to that station so presumably the platforms must be kept in a useable condition.

No companies other than the Overground operator have access rights to the station (not even 'barely or never used' rights). That doesn't affect emergency use but does indicate that there have been no booked calls since goodness knows when, and no intention to start any. The last non-Overground right was for West Coast diversionary use, which expired in 2019.

I do remember there being 2tph for a couple of years - one to Milton Keynes and one to Watford (short turn). I lived there at the time and it was a very nice quick run out of Euston.

I suspect it would be far better used today (also for Bakerloo railheadding) - but equally, harder to path. And DC is 4tph now.

They did replace the footbridge a few years back. Ultimately, it's only 8 car length so couldn't be in regular rotation I suspect.

I went through Queen's Park last Friday, and the platforms looked a bit tatty and weed-ridden.

Also a timeframe where the Lewisham/Hayes extension might be done, and the Bakerloo has more frequency and new trains - slightly quicker too.

For many journeys, it'd be quicker than changing for the tube at Euston. And you can get a seat on a starter...

I have seen photos of P5 and 6 Queen's Park and its stuck in a time warp still has Silverlink signs, green pain and TV CRT screens. Do any train's pass through there I don't know if its the fast line or a spare line for diversions.

Platforms 5 and 6 at Queen's Park are on the West Coast Main Line Up Slow & Down Slow respectively, and are not regularly stopped at by any trains but will be passed through by trains to/from Euston and freights to/from Primrose Hill. There are no platforms on the Fast Lines.

Well technically Maryland Platform 2 has it although it has a flat screen on it. Waterloo East maybe I know they have the old TFT screens too.
