Plastic Travel Card Holder Size

Does anybody know why the size of the plastic travel card holder (blue with 'National Rail' branding) have a) increased in size and b) had another pouch added? The previous size neatly fitted by season ticket and photo card and (more importantly) neatly fitted into my wallet. Now I have to slice the 3rd pouch off, only to be left with an oversized holder that doesn't fit so well into my wallet.

I'm reminded of the phrase 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Minor gripe really, but still a gripe.

Well it neatly carries my season ticket, my photo id and my Oyster card so 3 pockets are perfect. I assumed the addition of the extra pocket only effected the thickness. Did the other dimensions had change as well? You must have a very slim wallet or perhaps it is too full of money

Personally I preferred the old BR railcard 3 card holders although they seemed to be made from poor quality plastic.

Unless I've missed something recently, the National Rail holders have always been three-fold: one for the photocard, one for the railcard, one for the travel ticket. It was only Oyster holders that had two folds.

I need to use all 3 pockets as my plusbus annual season is now printed as a separate ticket.
The pouches I have been given have had 3 pockets for at least the last 15 years so nothing has changed recently. just that they don't last as long these days so usually get a new one then the ticket is renewed.

I think Virgin Trains always produced larger sized wallets with three pouches. National Rail produced double and triple pouch wallets, but at a smaller size. Now they've switched to all triple pouches at a larger size. I'd say it's perhaps 5-7mm wider and taller. So gone from being a snug fit to a generous fit. I can see why some need the third pouch, but I was more disappointed by the size increase as I can't slice that off!

May just resort to my original two pouch wallet issued with my first season pass many moons ago. Dark green leather with gold lettering on the outside - seems a long time ago since those were handed out for free with new DD season tickets!
