Hi all,

I'm trying to figue out the best way to get from home to a new job in Stevenage. The current plan is to drive but I'd rather use public transport if it's possible. My initial foray into a season ticket had me rather shocked as a return from London St Pancras to Stevenage plus a zone 1-3 travel card was looking at 5 grand a year! Even if i got a season ticket loan that's still a lot of money to pay off.

My next thought was to cycle to Finsbury Park and get the train north from there which was a more reasonable 3k a year. I just wanted to see if that's the best option....

Cycling along the Parkland Walk between Highgate and Finsbury Park should be nice and easy (and a rather pleasant way to start the day).

Will you be travelling every day? If not, you might find a carnet of tickets useful. Great Northern off 5-ticket or 10-ticket carnets, which have a discount to the normal single ticket price.
