I have been away from BVE for a few years since my old desktop with XP installed gave up the ghost and like a lot of people had to buy a new one with Win7, I have managed to purchase a second hand laptop with XP Pro installed and loaded BVE4 on it, however although there are loads of locos available for plain old BVE4 I can't find any routes, they appear to all be for open BVE could anyone help me please,
73 year old codger, Algy.

Hi Al,

I too was away from the BVE scene for a while and when I came back it was all OpenBVE. OpenBVE runs fine on both XP and Windows 7 and it can run all BVE4 creations quite well. It is a bit more fussy or captures "poor / sloppy" coding but you can just ignore the error messages and the route will run and look fine.

I kept all my old hard drives and through a nifty little interface was able to transfer most if not all of my old BVE4 content to my newer Windows 7 machine. So I have a large selection of trains, route and utilities for BVE4 if that is the way you wish to go and can make it available via Dropbox if that is of any help to you? Just drop me a PM and we can discuss it further.

By the way it is great to see another "old" name back and interested once again in all things BVE.

Bye for now,

Stephen.

Stephen, thanks for the reply and it's good to be back, and thanks for the offer of the old BVE4 routes, I have PM'd you. I would like to get myself sorted with the old BVE4 and perhaps move on to Open BVE later.
All the best.
Algy.

Hi Stephen,

Any chance you'd be willing to share your collection with me? I've only recently got into the simulator and most of the sites which contained routes have shut down :(
