To the best of my knowledge, Bluestar still uses a few Leyland Olympians, although these have since been re-registered and have Irish-style registration plates. Wilts & Dorset also operate a few Olympians too. Finally, Stagecoach in Hampshire operates quite a few R & S reg Olympians although these are increasingly being confined to college day only services from Peter Symonds.

Today TM Travel were running 3 Olympians (1 ex Lothian, 2 ex Dublin) on route 214 Sheffield - Matlock. Not sure how regular an occurance that is, but anyone who wants to catch up weith them better be quick as the route is being withdrawn on 21st July.

Stagecoach in Cwmbran have a few step entrance Volvo Alexander body buses. One has been repainted in to the old stripey livery. They also have two step entrance D/Deckers as well. They tend to get used on school buses but they do also tend to work route 14 from Newport to Bristol or the 74 to Underwood but they are otherwise parked at the back of the depot. A few weeks back one D/Decker from Stagecoach in the Cotswolds worked the service 74.

A rather amusing comment, if I may say so

As a general rule of thumb, older are better from the "enthusiast" perspective. After all, what's more fun to travel on, a Trident or a VR? That said, not all older vehicles ae good, as anyone who has ever been on a 3-speed Dominator will tell you. Southend had eight of two different ages (albeit more recent than numerous others and possibly too recent for this theme); the G-reg ones were pretty rubbish, although they could accelerate quite well and were probably on a par with the worst of the town's Laces, whereas its K-reg ones - supposedly the only K-reg ones ever built - were arguably the worst buses I have ever been on. Saving Grace: We also had an N-reg one, the last Dominator ever built I am ledt to believe, and it wasn't half bad. (It wasn't a 3-speed though.)

Well it's obviuosly not falling apart as it still drives! Its just a figure of speech. Inside some of them actually are falling apart though! Not to mention how dirty and unclean as well. I'm surprised nobody's spotted the dead speedometers yet on 3 different buses and they have certainly been dead for over 6 weeks!

As for not liking old buses, we are all different whats it you? Moreso you seem slighty offended by it, why? I prefer new buses as they are from my era and I just like them better.
