As a user of the rail who knows a little but also knows not a lot - we’ve just come through Bromsgrove on the way to Worcester Foregate Street from Birmingham New Street.

The on platform matrix sign scrolled through the calling points - but had a weird entry I’ve not seen before:

Worcester Shrub Hill (x) - 2058

What does the (x) denote?

Request stop, possibly?! Does that make sense, though?

Worcester Shrub Hill a request stop?

That doesn’t make sense as it’s a pretty major station here and we’d have to dwell for a few minutes for the crew to change end due to the reversal around the Worcester Triangle

I’ll see what the signs at Droitwich are displaying

Looking at the on board screens (thank you WMR for putting them in) - we get to Shrub Hill at 2044 - and will then sit there for 15 minutes before taking the two minute or so onward down to Foregate

It’s got to be a mistake. No way could that station be a request stop (x). There is no other reason I can think of for putting a (x)

I’ve just had a message back from a guard who works for WMT - apparently it means “Reverses Here”
