Once Huddersfield is wired and if Bradford Interchange gets it's consolation catenary, I assume we'll be waiting another century before Halifax and the Calder Valley is electrified. Halifax does start to look like a diesel island.
Given that HFX-HUD is quicker by rail but much less convenient by station location. would there be any sense of running a tram-train from central Huddersfield, onto the rail tracks to Halifax and then back on the street up to central Halifax. I assume the technology would allow for bi-mode if there wasn't infill electrification from HUD-BFD INT and it would be minimal on-street running.
