Don't see a problem with that, as long as you pick an appropriate size that is!

Ideally try and keep pictures small sized and narrower than 550px.

on this subject how do I make pictures appear in my post, as opposed to as attatchments at the bottom?

You need the URL that ends in .jpg which means you need to host a picture on something like photobucket first of all.

then the yellow box above with the mountain in it - you click on that then enter the wole url into it and hey presto!

You can also upload pictures to your own user album (click User CP and then the link on the left hand side) and it will give you the link to embed it into the forum.

You need an image file rather than a .jpg (which is a type of image file). PNG and GIF spring to mind since BMP is largely depreciated.

The image below is a png (and it's the chain rule in differentiation if anyone cares):

Hey, thanks, Mojo, for the tip about the personal user album! I didn't know about that.
I just spent some time uploading a few of my own limited railway (or railroad, as we say here) piccies.
