Mariazellerbahn complete with 100 year old electric locos, 50 year old diesels and a steam loco that is only just a little older than the electrics!

Capybara; I can thoroughly recommend the Mariazellerbahn, though if you want to see and ride behind the 1099s you will really need to go next year as some new units are due for delivery in 2013.

Another line that is off the beaten track but well worth a visit is the Waldviertelbahn between Gmünd and Groß Gerungs north of Vienna - it is seasonal (May to October) and runs using steam or diesel on alternate weekends and diesel on Wednesdays - I will try and get a collection of pics on-line once I have finished uploading the pics from the other two weeks of our trip.
