Can anyone advise what the issue is under dispute for the Piccadilly line strikes? TfL states it is an issue at Northfields depot.

Services on the Piccadilly line will be disrupted between the evening of Sunday 15 and the morning of Saturday 21 February. This is because of strikes planned at Northfields Depot.

  • Services may start later than normal
  • There may be delays throughout the day, particularly before 08:00
  • Night Tube services will run on Friday 20 February, but there may be cancellations
  • All our other services will run as planned

Seems to be mostly contained to “Minor Delays” with potential escalation in the peak.

RMT Fleet staff within Northfields depot balloted for industrial action regarding collapse of industrial relations, ballot ended 13 January.

Revised overnight stabling arrangements have been implemented at various sidings and platforms along the line to mitigate operational difficulties associated with accessing NFDS depot.

Feels like the Uxbridge branch is being punished more regarding the strikes rather than the Heathrow branch or even the Cockfosters end. First trains of the day have been good and have arrived on time towards central London, albeit with a Severe Delays status first thing in the morning. Cut towards early afternoon and I’m waiting longer than I should do for a train back to Uxbridge to Rayners Lane in zone 1, with about 3 or 4 Heathrow or Northfields trains before one does come in. I could maybe understand the logistics behind it, but I was hoping that my branch would triumph the Heathrow branches reliability for once.

The Piccadilly line has still had severe or minor delays due to train cancellations this week (e.g. Weds 25 Feb as of time of posting). Is this related to this strike or is it something else?

Lack of available trains, with 15-19 cancelled each day.
The strike ended on 21/2 but this might be the repercussions
