Photo Location advice for the TfL area

Hi folks, looking for a bit of advice on the best places looking for buses in the London area.

I'm planning on heading down one Saturday on a ODT from the Black Country and want to look for some of the bits and bobs that Rotala run via their Hotel Hoppa and Flights hallmark brands.

I'm also aiming to look for the Reading Greenline services (I know one runs by Victoria station) and also the current 226 allocation.

I'm aiming to get the last of the morning direct Chiltern service from Stourbridge/Rowley Reigs so will end up at Marylebone.

Heathrow. The exit from the Central Bus station works well on sunny afternoons. The entrance also works, but can get grief from security personnel. Northern Perimeter Road is also good, bus 285 from the central area to Hatton Cross goes along there or any bus to Harlington Corner and it is a short walk. A lot of the 08 plate Enviros on Hotel Hoppa work are in all over ads or looking very tatty. There are some new Streetlites also working the services. Since Rotala took over the Hoppa’s it is not unheard of for the vehicles to go out on Hallmark routes.

Greenline serves Terminal 5 at Heathrow every hour, with the other route serving Victoria every hour. Slough is a good location to see them plus Reading’s Thames Valley and Courtney operations. Slough is, however, not in the Travelcard zones unless you take bus 81, but this will take a large chunk of your time.

Staines has a good variety of routes, including Rotala. As with Slough it is outside the Travelcard zones except for routes 117 and 203, one of which serves Hatton Cross. Once again, however, it would take time to get out there.

LVF.io tracks TfL buses. Type ‘rgb’ into the search bar and it becomes Reading Vehicle Finder so that you can track Reading buses. Type LDN to go back to London.

If you are at T5 the ‘Pod parking’ shuttle is an unusual diversion for 15 minutes or so. No tickets required, press the button, get a pod and do for a ride.

226 links Ealing Broadway with Golders Green. Ealing to Heathrow is easy on TfL Rail (was Heathrow Connect), which now has Travelcard validity into the airport stations.
