Hi
This photo was in my wife's grandmothers' collection.
We believe her grandfather is in the photo - Edward Houston (1854-1930) of Sunderland.
Her father (also Edward Houston (1888-1972)) may be the little boy.
In the 1871 census, Edward is listed as a labourer.
In the 1881 census he is a Cartman.
In the 1891 census he is a Horse Driver for the North East Rail Company.
In the 1901 census he is a Railway Engine Driver.
In the 1911 census he is a messenger for the North Eastern Railway.
Also, does it look like the man standing would be Edward, as it looks like he is in control of the horse?
Any help on the date would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Darin.
