You have a lack of slyness, and you actually let them take your phone.

Exactly, you need to be sly, i never had my phone taken off me in school etc and no way would i let them keep it longer than the day!!!!!

Its not even that - back in the day I used to blast my polyphonic ringtones out in class, and the teacher would attempt to take my phone. But in reality, they can't take it if you don't give it to them. Very few knew how to get our respect so that we wouldn't do it in the first place.

Isn't it being very disrespectful to the member of staff concerned as well as other students to blast ringtones across the class?

Not to mention that defying the reasonable instruction of a teacher is probably grounds for a nice talking to with a more senior member of staff.

Yep it was. But that was like year 8 when the teachers allowed us to run wild. They actually told us that in year 7/8, they let us mess around, then it gets more serious after etc.

Bighat, you must be mistaken, i'm not inteligent or otherwise. "I don't need no big words" means "I'm not afraid to speak in my natural tongue" unlike Mr Ilford who speaks with the Queen's English to disguise where one originates from.
Wherever i go and who ever i meet, i'll speak with my natural vocabulary, my natural accent and i'll never be afraid to wear my colours. I'll say what i mean and not disguise or water it down with long and uncommon words. I believe in short, it's known as "Calling a Spade a Spade"
If you think i have developed an art form of derailing things, you should see me when i am trying ;)

Hide phone under the table or in your lap, don't look down obviously when you do it, keep it on silent or vibrate or mosquito, if you wanna make a call, go to the bog, if teacher heads your way, sit on it and deny all knowledge.

If your friend had kept it in his pocket and left it there, no-one would have been any the wiser...

I had it taken of me twice. Always took the battery out the back, to the annoyance of the teachers of course.

Our school rule is 'if a teacher can see it, it gets taken off you'. I had a phone which was so sensitive it kept turning itself on in my pocket, and wen the keypad was locked it just kept dialling 999. It was rather annoying that happening in lessons which is why I got a new phone.

No problem the cops wont turn up anyways.

I hide mine in my socks lol. That'd stop em when they asked you to turn your pockets inside out. "It's not me miss, I don't even have a phone"

Never had my phone taken off me once, nearly did but i just dropped it onto the floor by my coat and she tried everything to find it. Best way is to learn how your predictive text works and what words are where in the list or change the popular words, that way you don't need to look down only to read them which takes 2 tics.
