Had Coach A to myself on a few late night Pendo from EUS-BHI, must say that the usual complaints about staff asking passengers to move out of Coach A didn't happen on these occasions

I don't think I've ever managed it with a train, but I have had a Rail Replacement Coach laid on to get just me from Crewe to Hartford once!

You're thinking of Coach K, not A.

Yeah that is right - thanks for the correction. Unfortunately the days when I could go First Class are gone now and I actually reserve Standard Class in Coach A (as it is the Standard Quiet coach)
