I need to take a train from Waterloo to Lymington on Saturday, and back, with a break, at Liphook on Sunday. I understand that I am allowed to break my journey with an off-peak return. But I have to travel via a "permitted route", and SW Railways don't tell me what a permitted route is. Can anyone tell me if a return ticket is suitable for my needs, or if not, what tickets I should get?

Thanks

The forum's site will offer such an itinerary with splits turned off, so it's fine.

If you know the trains you want to get, it can be a good idea to generate your chosen itinerary, as evidence of validity.

If it wasn't permitted, we would offer a combination of tickets.

Thanks v. much. I'll get an off-peak return as I would like more flexibility for the return journey.

Permitted routes on an "any permitted" ticket include Brighton, so you have a lot of flexibility!

PD gives you the route via Liphook.

(Destination on the maps being Brockenhurst, which is the routeing point for Lymington.)
