Permitted Route. London St Pancras to Margate.

To complete lines in Kent I'd like to try this route using South Eastern's Highspeed service. I want to avoid confrontation with South Eastern guards because the route is the long way round.

Out via Ashford and Canterbury West to Margate.

Return from Margate via Sandwich, Deal, Dover and Ashford.

Is this allowed?

NRE gives itineraries to/from Margate via both routes for the "Plus High Speed" routed tickets, so it should be fine.

Definitely.

Some London <> Margate trains used to go the latter route pre HS1 - not sure if this is still the case.
