Can you alight at this station and if so where is it's location?

I'm wanting to go from the Museum station to the North Shields Ferry terminal using this heritage line.

Are you talking about the international ferry terminal in North Shields or the ferry across the Tyne to South Shields?

Think you might be getting confused between some former lines and the one that is there now.

The Stephenson Railway Museum runs trains from the Museum base (ex-TW Metro testing track) to a small non-descript platform down near Percy Main Metro Station. That's as far as the track goes, the line down to the old Tyne Commission Quay was removed a while back. You'd have to walk from Percy Main or Meadow Well to North Shields Ferry Terminal.

Some basic directions to the platform if getting there from the Tynemouth-bound platform:

1) Go down the stairs from the Metro platform and turn right under the bridge

2) Walk along this road until you see a paper shop on the left hand side.

3) Keep walking along this road until you get to the first right (St John's Walk) and turn right.

4) Walk along and cut through to Percy Ct. (now heading in the general direction of Newcastle)

5) Keep walking until you get to the railway boundary fence - should be a gate somewhere along there.

As always it is best to check when the trains are next running and the exact times. Last time I went we didn't know exactly where the platform was and missed the train to the Museum.

My plan was to get the 310 bus to the Museum end of the line and get the 1130 train down to Percy Main (North Tyneside Railway Museum) then somehow get to the Ferry cross the Tyne terminal then the 35 bus to Sundaerland and the 1412 Grand Central to Hartlepool.

Right, got it now. When you get off the train just follow the directions in reverse. You'll have to get a ticket and go from Percy Main Metro to North Shields. At North Shields there is a free bus down to the ferry terminal (ferryLink 333) which stops at one of the bus stops opposite The Neville pub on Rudyard Street (see here).

Once you get to South Shields on the ferry, walk towards the Metro station and you should be able to get the 35 from Keppel Street bus station. Either that or if you buy a 2 zone Daysaver at Percy Main, you'll get on the ferry for free and then you have the choice of getting the Metro to Pelaw to change for Sunderland or even going to Heworth and getting the Northern Rail service from there to Sunderland! Of course all depends on the time of the trains, although the journey time looks to be a bit longer from South Shields to Sunderland by Metro/Rail than bus. So if you have a bit of extra time you might consider just using the Metro to get to Sunderland.

I am also doing this on a Sunday so 333 does not run.

Was planning on a v tight 7 min connection to get the 1147 19 to north shields ferry terminus but i have plenty of time if i miss that one.
