One of the PEPs hiding in the shadows at Waterloo on 1st July 1976...
Quite a contrast and a look to the future indeed! That said, I may be wearing rose-tints, but do others share my nostalgic fondness for the 4-SUB at the adjacent platform?

The SUB's and VEP's were/are my fav units having ridden on both types day in, day out back in my early career days.

PS: in one of the signal boxes I worked in we had several seat cushions from either SUB or EPB laid on the floor behind the frame, which came in handy for anyone doubling back on shifts, ie: off late turn and directly in to Early turn, off night's in to late's etc, when going home, if one lived quite distant, wasn't worth the effort.
