Need a bit of info as I'm thinking of applying for a job as a driver at Penzance. What is Great western like to work for? Also, which routes do you do being based at Penzance?
Cheers in advance.
You will sign 153 and 150's and the routes your will do is st erth to st ives, truro to falmouth and penzance to exeter.
Falmouth is 6 trips near on 10 hour diagram and st ives is anywhere from 8 to 13 trips
My friend works there and says there in only ! diagram where you dont do any trips on a branch line.
liink size for west drivers is about 20 all having put there names down to go for HHs as the work is better sadly the waiting list is about anywhere from 7 to 15 years to get onto the hss as there is not really much movement.
And any new entrants go to the bottom.
99% of the work is falmouths and st ives unless you are in the hss link which everyone wants to go in as the west link has such crappy work

At a guess (and this is complete guess as only a passenger) the St Ives, and Falmouth branches (Liskeard and Newquay seem to be done by Par crew) and the main line as far as at least Plymouth, probably Exeter.
I'm sure someone will come along soon with more useful information, in which case I'll delete this post if it turns out to be a load of rubbish.
Your correct!
Stives = pz only
falmouth = Shared pz and par
newquay= par/ply(insummer as hst's run to newquay)
Looe = par only.
Penzance is a great depot to the blokes are great and the managers pretty chilled out.
But sadly as mentioned before the work is very very boring
