I am surprised that more is not made of this old track bed in Merthyr Tydfil, as I came across it by accident trying to find the impressive Cefn-Coed Viaduct.
"The Penydarren Tramroad is famous as the line on which Trevithick's locomotive ran in 1804, the first engine to pull a load on a railway."
Considering it is in such good condition and its place in railway history, I am surprised it is not a listed monument and gets more publicity.
