Pensarn to Conwy easiest way

I'm wanting to get the bus from Pensarn (by Abergele & Pensarn train station) to Conwy on Tuesday. Would the most straightforward way be to walk to the stop at George & Dragon, Abergele and get the Arriva 13 bus to somewhere just past Llandudno Junction and walk over the bridge to Conwy?

If so where is the best stop to get off at to walk over? I've not done this journey before so am basing this on looking at the map.

There's a few direct trains at 0800, 0900, and 1202 and that's the easiest way.

You could take the 13 route you suggest but the requires a 1km walk to Abergele centre, and then another 1km walk from Llandudno Junction.

My recommended alternative by bus is to get the 12 to Colwyn Bay (every 20 minutes) then change onto the 27 bus at xx32 past every hour to Conwy.

Thanks. I'll be getting the bus from Rhyl to Wrexham then Wrexham to Chester that afternoon so will have a day ticket for the bus already. So I'm just looking for a way of filling the morning with the ticket I will have already you see.

A 1 bws or an arriva day ticket will also be valid on the 12/13/27 (and most other buses in the Llandudno/Rhyl area that you'll be taking except the CC12).

You would depart Abergele Station at xx52 past the hour, arrive into Colwyn Bay at xx27, then from the same stop, 27 to Conwy at xx32 arriving xx56 with a 5 minute connection time. This has a total journey time of 1 hour and 4 minutes including the 5 minute connection time. It would be a lot quicker than the 13, with less walking and the same price!

If you want to get the 13, you can either alight in Llandudno Junction just before the roundabout (directly outside the railway station), or just after the roundabout at New Road. It'll be about the same amount of walking time from either stop. There is a pavement on the side of the bridge so it's no problem to walk across.

Also be aware for when you are returning in the afternoon, the 13 does not go to Rhyl, only Prestatyn, but it is possible to change between the 13 & X51 at Rhuddlan.

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware the 13 missed out Rhyl. I do need to stop at my family's place in Pensarn on the way back though so actually returning then getting the 12 to Rhyl will be easier.

I see what you mean about getting the 12. As the 12 is often late I might get the one before the xx52 to avoid the tight connection for the 27. I'll have a look at the times for the 27 coming back too as actually it looks like it cuts out a lot of unnecessary walking at either end of the journey. Getting a connection into a 12 coming back shouldn't be a problem as they are so regular.

Looking at it all my buses that day should be Arriva.

Get off the 13 bus at Lidl, one stop after Llandudno Junction station and walk along the tarmac footpath alongside the road bridge over to Conwy, a fabulous 20 minute stroll if not raining!

You can get 51 to Glan Clwyd Hospital (or Ysbyty Glan Clwyd to give its Welsh name), then catch the 13 from Glan Clwyd Hospital to Llandudno Junction, & avoid the need to change in Rhyl, & Abergele, the 13 & 51 call at the same stop at the Hospital.

The 13 is every hour, at xx26 at Glan Clwyd.
