Penrith destination boards used to display a lot of information for Avanti services like the train type “Avanti Super Voyager” or “11 Coach Avanti Pendolino” it would also have the zones for where the coaches would stop and where unreserved seating would be. However transpennine services would receive little to no information sometimes not even where first class was. Now they have new boards not only does it tell you how long it is it has the train type like “TransPennine Nova 2” or “Transpennine Nova 1” aswell as the zones for which coach and where first class and bike spaces are. A welcomed improvement for those using TPE! I’m unaware of wether the information on the announcements are different, hopefully more detailed for TPE aswell now.

They're the same as the ones they already replaced Crewe, Stafford, platform ends at Coventry which are the Infotec white dot matrix screens same as GWR, TfW, EMR and SWR

I like how on the diagram it flashes between the coach numbers where first class, disabled spaces and bike area are and also how full each coach is!

Those new white Infotec screens are getting everywhere now. I presume this is a network wide rollout to all AWC stations. I do think putting things like "Nova1" or "Nova2" is a bit pointless as nobody other than enthusiasts and railway workers will know what that means.

They do it with pendolinos etc. It’s more so people know that bike space are in different places but it’s the same as lner displaying on their boards lner azuma.

Forgot to say it helps staff as dispatching an 802 is slightly different to a 397!

The majority have first facing the south but quite a often they are reversed

No, TPE trains can be either way round and get turned far more often than Avanti trains due to the way the diagrams run.

KeTech don't supply CIS boards, they use Infotec CIS screens which KeTech drives the boards through.

I think the Southeastern ones make a bit more sense as they actually publish they train type in their timetable and different trains lack certain features like toilets or air con. But of course you have a similar issue where most ordinary passengers probably have no idea what a "Class 376" or "City Beam" or "Networker" is. But i suppose it does help staff. If they are assisting a disabled passenger then they can see the train type in advance and get the right type of ramp ready.

Yes especially if the staff places the ramp to where they or the passegners wish to board at.

Yes I do know that, what I meant is software wise as the KeTech system provides no information about formation other than amount of cars and even then sometimes it doesn't even do that.

I thought they did when they show "This train consist of X carriages" at Northern stations and show the diagram of how many carriages it displays. I am not sure on Chiltern ones and most of them use Daktronics Data display screens which doesn't show train carriage formation unless on roll call.
