This Saturday 30th April there will be an Hourly Pendolino service over the line from Liverpool to Manchester Piccadilly via Newton-le-Willows & v.v after 12.00.

The trains run non-stop from Liverpool Lime St to Stockport before continuing via Stoke-on-Trent to Euston.
The WCML is closed between Crewe & Stafford and also north of Crewe after 12.00

The diversions are also on all day Sunday.

Traincrew changes are not encouraged in Platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Picc to avoid any risk of delay awaiting a traincrew member for any reason due to the intensity of the service.
Back in BR days in the early 90s, I traveled on what would have become a XC train following privatisation (now TPE to Airport) from Preston to Crewe , the train running from Glasgow to the South Coast and worked by a 47 from Preston. The crew from Preston worked through to Stockport, the relief crew having travelled out on an earlier train from Manchester. This would have been shortly after the opening of the Salford Crescent chord.

Thanks, I was here once before but it was so long ago I lost my log-in and had to re-register.

I don't remember the last time the trains ran to/from Lime St.

I did the move last year when the WCML trains were diverted because of engineering work at Warrington BQ.
