Just wondering whether anyone knew whether 390006 was fixed as the 12:53 service into Birmingham International was a Pendolino today. This has always been the loco hauled service since the yard incident?

I'm not sure as the loco hauled set was reported as failing yesterday and was seen today heading back to London empty around lunch time today

As of yesterday morning (Thursday) 390 006 was still in the depot at Wembley minus the damaged coach. I have heard a rumour that the class 90 will only be out on the Eus - Bhm diagram for another couple of weeks at most.

Wasn't there pictures of a Mark 3 set being refurbished and repainted in to new Virgin colours?

No - the only set awaiting in refurbishment is currently at Doncaster, nearing the end of it's time there. It's been repainted into Pendo livery, received a Pendo interior and will operate on relief services when it comes into service.

thats a bad sign, but don't MK3s have large windows, how and why would they shrink them? They also have comfortable seats which would mean that they would go, along with the legroom

Are you seriously suggesting you think they'd take a Mk 3 and fill in half the windows for the sake of it??:roll:

All this means is they'll will look something like the XC refurbs. Comfort of the seats is down to personal taste and any normal passenger would see a refurbished coach as infinitely better than a tired old ex VWC interior, so it's not a bad sign at all, IMHO

You must be bored :D I guess 3390006 was the other set involved in the shunt then?

And yes I agree that the loco hauled set is still in use, I am guessing that the day I thought the change had occured, they had actually announced a delayed Pendo as the 12:53 arrival.

One of the Pendos is currently stored in 2 halves in Wembley; you can see them out of the left hand window when travelling Up.

Yep I have seen it when travelling on one of its stable mates. Can't see any numbers on it though, usually travelling too fast for my eyes to even squint a coach number. Poor thing, it must be feeling very poorly at the moment :D

How nice do they look! :D

I must admit, they look good. I think other than the fact they don't have sliding doors, externally, a 'normal passenger' would be hard pressed to notice the difference.

From what I've heard, they are to keep their original seats, but just have new padding and Pendolino red/ blue seat moquette fitted. No one has mentioned anything about digital reservation display being fitted- I can't really see that happening considering the service it's to be used on (18:46 Euston - Preston) isn't reservable!

90029 now on hauled set and, as of last Thursday, 390 006 still minus it's north end driving car. I understand that the hauled set will be out for a few more weeks yet :)

390006 is still sat in view at Wembley, I had a good view of it when the Glasgow sleeper reversed on Monday morning!

The PTS has no pantograph or mountings on the roof, presumably removed for spares, however the TPF still has its

The Class 90 and Mk3 set failed to appear on yesterdays 07:43 Euston - Birmingham
390052 then disgraced itself at Coventry, with a brake system failure
I had to swap at Coventry to the following 08:03 Euston - Birmingham, anyone idea which 390 it was?

It appeared later during the day. It was dragged to Euston by a 92 on the ecs due to the driver not signing DVTs
