Was on a Pendo yesterday and I noticed that the locking of the door in coach A has now been implemented. Well, sort-of.
The picture shows a carriage key lock and a notice to cyclists that they need to contact staff to arrange getting off (though sadly isn't quite specific enough as to the system).
However, there is a very easy way to open the door still (I won't post it specifically, but work it out yourself) - it took all three cyclists I saw only seconds to work it out once they had got over looking puzzled at no open button. So I think it hasn't really worked and they need to go back to the drawing board.
What out of interest is the reason - bike thefts, passengers using the egress due to those doors having no open buttons (or being better off outside so they can wave at the guard if forgotten?), or to keep passengers out of the front third of the vehicle (which there seems to be nothing enforcing on a Voyager)?
